president
As Founder and President of dCi, Howard Shannon is living proof that you can turn an entry level job into a lifetime opportunity. With over forty years of experience, Howard started his career in 1962 with MacLean Hunter Magazine.
From 1962 to 1975, Howard was promoted through the ranks, moving quickly from direct sales, to field manager, to the marketing and promotion manager for eastern Canada. Buoyed by this success, and recognizing a unique opportunity when the industry at large was in flux, Howard founded Dynamic Circulation Inc. (dCi) in 1975. Since then, he has also achieved the addition of our innovative school program, which brought our sales from $126,000 in 1999 to over 8 million in sales in 2005.
Howard is also highly active in the community at large, holding various roles on the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau of Toronto for a total of eleven years. He is also proud to corporately sponsor Victims of Violence – Canadian Centre for Missing Children (VOV), donating over $180,000 annually.
“I started as a salesperson, the same type of starter job we are looking for now. So I know first hand what one can do with this experience,” said Howard. “That’s why we offer great incentives like a terrific base salary, car buy-back plans, vacations, benefits, paid trips home, and other special incentives.”
Not only has Howard enjoyed professional fulfillment over the course of his career, he has enjoyed personal success as well. He first met his wife of 30 years at MacLean’s, and is the proud father of three children. Howard and his family reside in Kelowna, and have operated successfully out of the same location for the past 22 years.

Jim is also just a phone call away for our sales managers whenever they need advice or assistance in the field. “I really enjoy interviewing and hiring such dynamic and driven people,” he says. “It is very rewarding for me to see the people that I have hired do well and succeed in the company.” |

manager, national sales
Rob is our National Sales Manager, based in the Eastern Canada territory. Rob joined dCi 20 years ago as a salesperson, and has since grown within the company to become the manager of all sales operations across Canada. While working his way up through the ranks at dCi, Rob won numerous sales awards and contests for travel trips. In his current role, he maintains ongoing communication with nation-wide staff, directly supervises the Eastern sales team, oversees human resources, and conducts training for sales staff entering into management positions. According to Rob, the best parts of his career with dCi have included the opportunity to travel extensively and continually work with enthusiastic, dynamic groups of people throughout the company.
Sandy Taylor
Manager, Sales
Sandy came to dCi from Medicine Hat, AB. Sandy was looking for a position that would allow him to grow and experience the rest of Canada. He found it! In his first year Sandy took driver training classes through a licensed instructor that dCi provided and became a car handler. In no time, Sandy became the right hand man of Sales Manager Mike Froude, who was able to depend on him with the training, safety, and well being of several employees. Sandy worked his way to Supervisor and then Senior Supervisor, and has been recently promoted to Assistant Manager. Sandy is now responsible for encouraging and motivating a sales staff of 8 -10 representatives. In his five years with Dynamic Circulation, Sandy has displayed exemplary behavior and earned five all inclusive trips to Mexico as well as a houseboat vacation. In addition to his trips, Sandy took advantage of the company’s car buy out incentive and is now the owner of a Honda Element. He truly has a great attitude as he quotes, “Travelling across Canada with a group of young and exciting people has to be one of the greatest opportunities you can have when you are young. I mean what can be better than getting to see and experience the different parts of Canada most people will never get the opportunity to see!”. dCi is lucky to have such an employee on the front lines. |
